First Class
Here's what you can expect during your first class:
WARM UP
Classes start with a dynamic warm up to prepare the body for training. Expect a combination of stretching, mobility drills, BJJ movements, and BJJ drills to get you warmed up.
TECHNIQUE
Our experienced instructors will guide you through fundamental BJJ techniques and concepts. They'll break down each technique step-by-step, ensuring you understand the mechanics and principles behind them. Don't worry if you're new to BJJ; our classes are designed to accommodate all skill levels.
DRILLING
After learning the techniques, you'll have the opportunity to practice them with a partner. This drilling phase allows you to refine your movements and develop muscle memory. Our instructors and higher-ranked students will be available to assist and provide guidance as needed so don't hesitate if you have any questions.
ROLLING
Towards the end of the class, you'll have the chance to engage in live training, commonly known as rolling or sparring. This is where you apply the techniques you've learned in a controlled and friendly environment. Rolling helps you develop your timing, strategy, and adaptability while gaining valuable experience on the mat.
RULES FOR ROLLING:
- No bending, grabbing, or twisting fingers
- No eye gouging or hair pulling
- Be aware of training partners around you
- Do not do anything that you feel would potentially injure yourself or your training partner
